In May 2011 Pioneer acquired Synextra SpA (formerly Masotina), a leading northern Italian waste recycling company. In September 2023, the company partnered with GreenDot, the leading German plastic recycling company.
The strategic merger targets to expand and combine the companies’ knowledge and capabilities in the plastics recycling market and significantly scale the business internationally on the back of the unique market opportunity, with a particular focus on the preparation of feedstock for chemical recycling and high quality mechanically recycled compounds.
