In July 2025, Pioneer acquired Arpex Srl, a leading behind-the-meter (“BtM”) solar PV platform in Italy. Founded in 2000 and based in Turin, the Company initially focused on the construction of technological systems, but, leveraging the founder’s deep automation expertise, transitioned into the energy sector in 2009. The Company developed a unique approach to small scale rooftop PV and, to date, has successfully developed and built over 150MWp solar PV projects for blue-chip customers. As part of their differentiated offering, Arpex also provides comprehensive asbestos removal solutions, enhancing both the sustainability and overall value of the buildings it serves.
The Fund’s commitment will go towards backing an experienced management team, led by the former CEO and CFO of Pioneer’s portfolio company, Sistema Rinnovabili, with the strategic objective of building Italy’s leading BtM solar PV company, focused on commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.
