Pioneer’s portfolio company, Brockwell Energy (“Brockwell”), has successfully completed the installation of the first five turbines at its North Kyle wind farm in East Ayrshire.
The North Kyle project will see £300 million of investment to deliver 212MW of renewable energy capacity utilising Vestas V136 turbines.
North Kyle is part of a wider redevelopment project to regenerate one of Scotland’s largest former coal mining sites. Once installation is complete, North Kyle will have 49 turbines which will generate enough energy to power an equivalent of 168,000 homes every year.
Through this project, Brockwell is also investing in local communities and has committed £3.4 million of Community Benefit funding through East Ayshire’s 9CC Group which represents the nine councils surrounding North Kyle.
